Is Archive Toolbox compatible with Apple/Intel processors?

  • Yes. Starting with version 3.0 Archive Toolbox is universal.

Is Archive Toolbox compatible with FileMaker 9?

  • Yes. Starting with version 3.0 Archive Toolbox is compatible with FileMaker Pro 9.

Is Archive Toolbox compatible with FileMaker 7?

  • Yes. Starting with version 2.0.1 Archive Toolbox is compatible with FileMaker Pro 7. The previous version functioned under FileMaker 7, but a strange artifact was seen in the status bar. This has been fixed with the release of v2.0.1.

Is the Archive Toolbox plug-in compatible with the FileMaker Runtime engine?

  • Yes, the Archive Toolbox plug-in is compatible with the runtime engine versions 5-6. The plug-in is placed in the platform specific folder.
    • Macintosh - Solution Folder:FileMaker Extensions:Archive Toolbox
    • Windows - Solution Folder\System\Archive Toolbox.fmx

Can the Archive Toolbox plug-in create folders or delete files on the hard drive?

  • Archive Toolbox allows you to select a file or folder with the ATBox-GetPath command. There are several file manipulation plug-ins available that provide extensive access to files on the hard drive. For a list of these and other plug-ins, refer to the plug-in list found at FileMaker Pro's website.

Why does Archive Toolbox register correctly on the Mac and not on Windows?

  • The registration code is platform specific. It is likely that you licensed the plug-in for that Macintosh and not Windows platform. There are three types of registration codes:
    • Macintosh
    • Windows
    • Cross-platform
    Contact Sitecraft support for information on converting a single platform registration code into a cross-platform code.

Can I create a self extracting archive using the Archive Toolbox?

  • No, not at this time.

Does Archive Toolbox work with OS X?

  • Yes, Archive Toolbox plug-in is compatible with OS X.

With Archive Toolbox, can you encrypt an archive with a password?

  • Yes, Archive Toolbox supports password encryption/expansion for both .sit and .zip archive formats cross-platform.

Is the Archive Toolbox plug-in compatible with Terminal Services?

  • Provided the Terminal Services is compatible with FileMaker Pro, Archive Toolbox will work with the solution.

I'm going to share my database with 6 users... How many licenses will I need, 1 or 6?

  • If you solution is designed to provide Archive Toolbox functions to all 6 users, then you will need a 6 user license.

Is there a way to zip a number of files into the one archive without specifying a folder?

  • Yes, new to Archive Toolbox 2.0 plug-in is the ability to add items to an existing archive.

What does the error 'Unable to unarchive "file.zip" into "Desktop" mean?

  • The full error message reads:

    Unable to unarchive "file.zip" into Desktop".
    (Error 78 - Function not implemented.

    This message is appears when you try to expand a password protected .zip archive using Mac OS X built in archive processor 'BOMArchiveHelper'. It appears that Apple has not implemented expansion of password protected .zip files.

    To work around this, use Archive Toolbox and your FileMaker solution to expand the archive or download the StuffIt Expander from Allume Systems.
